EKAM Dialogues to Launch in Ranchi, Driving Regional Vision for Resilience and Sustainable Development
Ranchi, April 06, 2026: In a significant step toward fostering sustainable and inclusive growth in Eastern and Central India, EKAM Dialogues: Samvaad se Nirmaan will be held on April 8–9 in Ranchi. The initiative is being convened by the Center for Environment and Energy Development (CEED) as a thought leadership platform aimed at advancing regional resilience through meaningful dialogue and actionable solutions.
Rooted in the philosophy of “oneness,” EKAM Dialogues seeks to bring together diverse voices across sectors, geographies, and generations to co-create solutions for complex developmental challenges. Moving beyond conventional discussions, the platform emphasizes a transition from Samvaad (dialogue) to Nirmaan (co-creation), ensuring that ideas evolve into implementable outcomes.
Focus on Resource-Rich Yet Challenged Regions
Elaborating on the vision behind the initiative, Ramapati Kumar, CEO of CEED, highlighted that states such as Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Bihar, and Odisha are among the most resource-rich and ecologically significant regions in the country. Their mineral wealth, biodiversity, and cultural heritage have played a vital role in India’s industrial growth and energy security.
However, these regions continue to face multifaceted challenges, including social disparities, environmental degradation, and climate vulnerability. At this critical juncture, EKAM Dialogues aims to unlock new pathways aligned with sustainable development, climate adaptation, and the national vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.
A Region-First, Action-Oriented Approach
What sets EKAM apart is its region-first lens, which prioritizes local strengths, community aspirations, and indigenous knowledge systems. The platform is designed to integrate grassroots wisdom with forward-looking strategies, fostering interdisciplinary and intergenerational collaboration.
The two-day convening will feature 11 thematic sessions covering key areas such as environment, energy, social development, innovation, and policy frameworks. In addition to policy discussions, the event will also celebrate art, storytelling, and grassroots innovation as essential components of building resilient communities.
Strong Participation from Changemakers and Experts
The event will bring together an impressive cohort of 11 Padma Shri awardees, 27 changemakers, and over 70 experts and practitioners from across the country. This diverse participation is expected to enrich the dialogue with a wide range of perspectives and experiences.
A key highlight of the event will be the EKAM Samman, which recognizes grassroots changemakers for their impactful work. By amplifying their lived experiences and innovative practices, the initiative aims to inspire replication and inform broader policy discourse.
Towards a Shared and Sustainable Future
EKAM Dialogues is envisioned not just as a one-time event, but as a long-term movement to shape a collaborative and resilient future for Eastern and Central India. By bringing together policymakers, experts, community leaders, and youth, the platform seeks to build a shared vision rooted in inclusivity, sustainability, and collective action.
As Ranchi prepares to host this landmark initiative, EKAM Dialogues promises to emerge as a catalyst for transformative change—bridging ideas with action and dialogue with development.
