Devotion, Safety, and Smart Solutions: High-Level Review Meeting Held for Shravani Mela 2025 Preparations

Special focus on pilgrim convenience, security, and technological innovations

Deoghar, May 6: A high-level review meeting for the upcoming State Shravani Mela 2025 (July 11 – August 9) was held today at the Deoghar Circuit House under the chairmanship of Hon’ble Minister Shri Sudivya Kumar, Minister for Urban Development & Housing, Higher & Technical Education, Tourism, Art-Culture, Sports & Youth Affairs, Government of Jharkhand.

Senior officials from the Tourism Department, Deputy Commissioners of Deoghar and Dumka, Director of Tourism, and other departments were present. The meeting focused on reviewing inter-departmental progress and ensuring a seamless, safe, and tech-enabled experience for millions of devotees.

Key Highlights:

■ A Mela Dedicated to Devotees:
Hon’ble Minister Shri Kumar emphasized that Shravani Mela is not just a religious event, but a cultural identity of Jharkhand. He directed all departments to work in close coordination to ensure safe and accessible Jalabhishek (holy water offering) and an enriching experience for devotees.

■ Ban on VIP/VVIP Darshan on Mondays:
To ensure equality and fairness, VIP/VVIP out-of-turn darshan will be completely restricted on all Mondays, providing equal access to all pilgrims.

■ Technology-Driven Solutions:
The 2025 Mela will see extensive use of technology to streamline operations and improve public experience. Key initiatives include:

• AI-powered Integrated Mela Control Room
• AI Chatbot for information, assistance, and feedback
• AI-based Traffic Management System
• QR Code-based Feedback System
• Location-based Attendance Monitoring
• Digital Pavilion for virtual experiences

■ Enhanced Pilgrim Facilities:
Plans have been made to provide quality arrangements including health centers, information & help desks, tent city, drinking water stations, bathing and toilet facilities, waste bins, sanitation teams, mist cooling systems (Indra Varsha), and aesthetic decorations with welcoming arches.

■ Focus on Law & Order:
Detailed discussions were held on setting up temporary police outposts, crime control mechanisms, traffic regulation centers, vehicle parking zones, and optimized route lining to ensure a hassle-free experience for visitors.

■ Deadline-Driven Departmental Tasks:
Departments including electricity, urban development, drinking water & sanitation, tourism, health, PRD, and building divisions were directed to complete all works within stipulated timelines with assured quality.
