Every Hospital Will Be a Fortress: Health Minister Dr. Irfan Ansari Orders Overhaul of Safety Standards

Following the Jamshedpur incident, the Health Minister takes responsibility — Orders all hospitals to submit structural safety reports within three days

Ranchi/Jamshedpur: Shaken by the recent tragic incident in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand’s Health Minister Dr. Irfan Ansari has announced sweeping reforms in the state’s healthcare infrastructure. In a strong and emotional statement, he declared, “If any patient dies due to safety lapses in RIMS or any government hospital, I will personally take responsibility.”

Dr. Ansari has directed that all district hospitals, RIMS, and medical colleges across the state must submit a detailed report on the condition of their buildings within three days. The report must classify buildings as safe, in need of repair, or structurally unsafe and fit for demolition. “Once the reports are in, funds for repairs and reconstruction will be released immediately,” he assured.

Every hospital will have a strong and dependable security setup.” Dr. Ansari added that he will personally visit the families of the Jamshedpur victims next week and ensure they receive all necessary support.

The minister warned that negligence in the healthcare sector will not be tolerated. Any lapse — whether administrative, structural, or medical — will be met with swift action. He confirmed that emergency relief and security measures are already underway in Jamshedpur, with special teams deployed.

Concluding his address, Dr. Ansari appealed to the public, media, and medical professionals for collective cooperation: “We must rebuild and strengthen this system together. I can’t do it alone — I need everyone’s support.”
